Creating jobs in communities nationwide

What is the AbilityOne® Program?
The AbilityOne Program creates private-sector jobs for Americans who are blind or have significant disabilities, including veterans and wounded warriors.
As a program participant, organizations like GCE take part in delivering mission-essential products and services to federal customers, including the Department of Defense.

GCE leads the way
As one of the largest employers under the AbilityOne® Program, GCE employs more than 1,600 people – including more than 1,000 with a disability – and serves customers in 14 states and Washington, D.C. We provide job opportunities for people with and without disabilities, including veterans on contracts ranging from food and custodial services to IT and contact center services.
Employment is key to economic growth in all the communities where GCE provides services to our customers and partners. Our team members are taxpayers, homeowners, and active members within their communities. GCE has received many awards for service excellence and has gained national recognition for our adeptness in meeting the intricate requirements of demanding facility operations.
Job opportunities through GCE reflect the needs of our customers and partners – coupled with the skills required to get the job done effectively and efficiently by our team members.

Supporting our nation's military readiness
Employment gives adults with disabilities, including veterans, the chance to support their families, build connections with workplace colleagues and find satisfaction in contributing to their communities.
The AbilityOne® Program provides an opportunity for veterans with disabilities to continue to serve. Approximately 2,500 veterans are employed through the AbilityOne® Program. More than half of them work on Dept. of Defense contracts.
