LifeView Group, the parent company of Global Connections to Employment, has been recognized as a 4 Star Employer by VETS Indexes Employer Awards for 2025. This prestigious accolade highlights LifeView Group’s steadfast commitment to fostering a veteran-friendly workplace and supporting the military community through employment opportunities and dedicated resources.

The VETS Indexes Employer Awards evaluate organizations based on their efforts to recruit, hire, retain and promote veterans, as well as their broader support for the military community. Earning the 4 Star designation reflects LifeView Group’s exceptional performance in creating a workplace where veterans can thrive, building on last year’s recognition as a 3 Star Employer.
“We are deeply honored to receive the 4 Star Employer designation from VETS Indexes,” said Sandy Whitaker, vice president of corporate development for LifeView Group. “Veterans bring valuable skills and experience into the workforce. They are mission-minded individuals who share LifeView Group’s values. This recognition underscores the hard work of our team in ensuring veterans feel supported and empowered to succeed.”
LifeView Group supports veterans and their families through its three affiliates:
- Global Connections to Employment (GCE) provides jobs and training for people with significant disabilities, including war-wounded veterans, across 14 states plus Washington, D.C.
- FamiliesFirst Network – Child welfare services help military families finalize adoptions of children in foster care.
- Lakeview Center – Comprehensive behavioral health services are available to veterans and their families including outpatient counseling, psychiatry, 24/7 crisis care, treatments for substance misuse and residential programs. In 2024, Lakeview Center launched a partnership with Home Base to combat veteran suicides, eliminate barriers to care and enhance the quality of support for those affected by military service-related trauma. Through this partnership, outpatient clinical care is available at no cost for veterans and military families for a variety of behavioral health needs including post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss and co-occurring substance use issues.
The 2025 VETS Indexes Employer Awards celebrate organizations that lead by example in veteran employment. LifeView Group’s achievement as a 4 Star Employer places it among the nation’s top employers for veterans, recognizing its ongoing efforts to enhance veteran hiring practices and workplace policies.
Currently, 136 veterans work at LifeView Group sites across the country. Targeted employment navigators are available to assist veteran team members in achieving a successful transition into the workforce, and a Veterans Employee Resource Group supports team members to ensure a great work experience within the organization. These features led LifeView Group to be designated a 2025 Military Friendly® Employer.
LifeView Group’s GCE division is also proud to be listed in the National Resource Directory, a searchable database of resources specifically vetted for service members, veterans, family members and caregivers. GCE is also Virginia Values Veterans Certified, a participant in Army Partnership for Youth Success and a Department of Defense Skillbridge provider.

About VETS Indexes
VETS Indexes is a leading voice on veteran employment issues, overseeing the VETS Indexes Employer Awards, hosting the Employing U.S. Vets Conference, unearthing unique and unprecedented data on veteran employment through the Veteran Employment Benchmarking Service, and developing custom indexes, linked to financial products, that track the performance of the publicly traded companies that have established themselves as the best employers for veterans.
The VETSX and VTRNIX indexes were created on the premise that the companies that make the best use of the highly talented, yet under-valued, talent pool that veterans represent will ultimately see a benefit to their bottom lines. The performance of the indexes has emphatically confirmed that thesis, regularly outpacing the S&P 500.
As the world’s first resource for U.S.-veteran-themed indexes, our mission is to provide innovative solutions that recognize the value created by the mission-critical mindset, unique skills, and specialized training that veterans bring to the workplace. Our mission also includes a commitment to always donate a significant portion (target of 20% and no less than 5%) of our net profits to charitable organizations that support veterans and their families.
